Hey everyone! My name is Jessica Rennie and I’m the newest addition to the Corporate Sales Office here at the Delawana Inn! This is my fourth year working here; however I’ve taken quite a few hops, skips, and jumps throughout the resort before sitting where I am today.
After visiting “The Del” for a number of years with my family and experiencing the life of a guest, I was offered the opportunity to begin working for the Social Department. The resort industry won me over right away, choosing what I wanted to go to school for – Hotel and Resort Management – and ultimately my career path.
Three years after I started creating and sharing fun, memorable family experiences (like the ones I remembered) as a Camp Counselor and Activity Coordinator, I moved onto the Food and Beverage Department to get experience in other aspects of the resort field. After a season learning the ways of The Royal Dining Room, Boathouse Bar and getting the feel of our Patio Restaurant right on the water, I immediately accepted the offer to dive right into the Corporate swing of things.
I’ve been asked on a number of occasions whether or not I will miss being outdoors all the time as opposed to in the office; and the answer is of course yes! Who wouldn’t? However even with that being said, I am now being allowed to relate my - and I use this word again – fun filled days of work I have already enjoyed, into your meetings and events wherever you see fit. That to me is a fulfilling feeling and completely worth it in every way. Looking out the window to my right and still getting to see the waves and islands of beautiful Georgian Bay is simply an added touch – and will do just nicely!
